Rebecca Tarnas

Rebecca Tarnas is an Assistant Professor in the Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness program at the California Institute of Integral Studies, affiliated with the School of Consciousness and Transformation. Her work bridges Jungian, transpersonal, and archetypal psychology with philosophy, literature, and ecological studies, focusing on participatory spirituality and the evolution of worldviews.

Current projects include a biography of Stanislav Grof, slated for completion in 2026.

Recent publications span topics like the phenomenology of astrology, imaginal ecology, and archetypal biography. She has also narrated audiobooks by Stanislav Grof and edited volumes on archetypal cosmology. Her teaching emphasizes transpersonal psychology, Jungian analysis, and the intersection of art and archetypes.
