معرفی
Dr. Rebecca Senior is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biosciences at Durham University in the UK. She previously held roles as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton University (2019–2021) and a Visiting Researcher at the University of Florida (2019). Her research focuses on conservation biology, global change ecology, and microclimate ecology, utilizing quantitative tools like R programming and spatial analysis to address biodiversity loss. She earned a PhD in Ecology & Conservation from the University of Sheffield (2018) and a BA in Natural Sciences (Zoology) from the University of Cambridge (2013).
- Education: PhD in Ecology & Conservation (2018), University of Sheffield
- Education: BA in Natural Sciences (Zoology) (2013), University of Cambridge
Her research interests include understanding climate change impacts on ecosystems, microclimate dynamics in tropical forests, and the role of human activities in biodiversity loss. She has contributed to global studies on protected area effectiveness, wildlife trade impacts, and the development of tools like the ThermStats R package for thermal heterogeneity analysis.
Her work spans tropical forests, desert bird communities, and conservation policy, emphasizing pragmatic solutions through data-driven approaches. Current projects include analyzing conservation action outcomes and advancing microclimate research guidelines.
Dr. Senior supervises PhD students Andrew Clelland, Cameron Goodhead, and Jack Marchant. She actively collaborates on global datasets such as PREDICTS and contributes to open-source tools for ecological analysis.
