Rebecca Scott is a Senior Lecturer in Public Health Engineering at Loughborough University's School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering, and a member of the Water Engineering and Development Centre. Her research focuses on sustainable sanitation and water services for urban poor populations in low- and middle-income countries, addressing fecal sludge management, institutional barriers, equity, and socio-cultural factors.

Recent projects include studies on food safety in urban agriculture value chains, household water management in Bangladesh, and regulatory frameworks for fecal sludge services in Sub-Saharan Africa.
