Rebecca McCulley is a Professor and Chair in the Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture, Food and Environment at the University of Kentucky, where she focuses on plant-soil interactions and global change biology. Her research spans temperate and subtropical ecosystems, emphasizing climate impacts on legumes, nutrient cycling, and soil microbial communities.
Research Interests include:
- Climate change effects on plant productivity and symbiotic relationships
- Industrial hemp's role in sustainable crop rotations
- Soil carbon dynamics and microbial ecology
- Grassland biodiversity under nutrient enrichment
- Thermal sensitivity of plant-fungal endophyte systems
Recent Publications highlight trends in:
- Nutrient co-limitation in grassland productivity
- Genomic and root architectural traits in hemp cultivars
- Climate-driven disruptions to symbiotic nitrogen fixation
- Herbivory-mitigated biodiversity loss
