Rebecca Markovits serves as an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Psychology within the College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where she has taught since 2014 after earning her Ph.D. in Behavior Analysis from Simmons College.
Her research program centers on Applied Behavior Analysis with dual emphases: (1) clinical applications for individuals with autism and neuro-typical populations, including prompt fading procedures in picture identification tasks and stimulus control development measured through eye gaze; and (2) educational innovation through staff training methodologies and evidence-based teaching practices in higher education.
Dr. Markovits actively promotes student engagement in applied research and experiential learning opportunities, leveraging her prior experience as a behavior specialist and Assistant Clinical Director at a school for students with severe special needs to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical implementation in complex behavioral contexts.
