Dr. Rebecca M. Stephanis is a Professor and Department Chair of Modern Languages and Literature at Gonzaga University. She earned her Ph.D. in Latin American Literature and Cultures (2008) from Princeton University, alongside an M.A. in Education (Stanford University) and an M.A. in Latin American Studies (Tulane University). Her research focuses on the representation of the Amazon rainforest, extractivism in literature/film, and cinematic portrayals of the Colombian conflict.
