Rebecca Keogh is Deputy Director of Foundation Programmes and EAP TNE Programme Manager at the University of Birmingham Dubai campus. She holds the Senior Fellowship of Higher Education Authority (SFHEA) and leads English for Academic Purposes across foundation and pathway programmes. Her work spans teaching, academic integrity, and curriculum development in international higher education contexts.
Her educational background includes a Master of Applied Linguistics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Secondary Education, and ongoing doctoral studies in Applied Linguistics. She has extensive international experience in Australia, Japan, Korea, India, and the UAE.
Rebecca's research centers on ecolinguistics and sustainability, particularly how language shapes perceptions of nature and climate change. Using critical discourse analysis and corpus linguistics, she investigates media narratives on extreme weather, linguistic diversity, and discourses of climate denial. Her work bridges language education and environmental advocacy.
Her recent publications focus on climate-resilient education models and gender equity in sustainable development. Collectively, her research emphasizes literacy, education policy, and the role of language in driving social and environmental change.
