Rebecca Harrop is a Senior Lecturer in Cybersecurity at the School of Computer Science and Technology, University of Bedfordshire. With over 20 years of teaching experience, she specializes in cybersecurity education, networking, and promoting diversity in digital skills. She holds a Psychology degree from the University of St. Andrews and a 1st-class master's in Cognitive Science (funded by ESRC) from the University of Dundee, focusing on neural networks and artificial intelligence.
Her research explores human factors in cybersecurity, social engineering, cyberpsychology, and IoT security. She actively contributes to professional development through certifications like Cisco Networking (CCNA Security), CompTIA A+, and Open University microcredentials. As a respected guest speaker, she has addressed parliamentary groups (APPG Cyber-Security) and EMEA tech conferences on topics like bridging skills gaps through diversity and educational best practices.
