Rebecca Green

Dr Rebecca Green is a Lecturer and researcher at UNSW Art & Design (Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture). She holds a PhD in design and sociology from Queensland University of Technology (2016), a Master of Design from Griffith University (2007), and an Associate Diploma of Art & Design from Canberra Institute of Technology (1996). Her research explores the role of visual communication in shaping trust, combating misinformation, and advancing climate change messaging through design, semiotics, and rhetoric.

• Research Focus: Visual symbols, speculative design, climate communication, digital media, and sustainable design practices.
• Supervision: Joint supervision available for topics in visual communication, graphic design, comics, climate change, and semiotics.
• Teaching: Coordinates courses in graphic design foundations, typographic design, and data visualization at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Grants: Secured funding for projects on aeromedical evacuation, digital grid futures, and innovation in design.
• Recognition: Awarded the Griffith University Academic Excellence award in 2007 and holds the FHEA fellowship.
