Rebecca Gay Evans is a Professor of Equestrian Studies and staff veterinarian at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), a position she has held since 2013. She oversees veterinary care for SCAD's equestrian program, managing 65 horses and traveling with the competition team. Previously, she served as Director of Equestrian Programs at SCAD (2011–2013), where she managed 70 horses and 20 staff while maintaining program budgets.

Dr. Evans has received notable recognition, including the UGA 40 UNDER 40 (2017) and Steve Lee Memorial Scholar (2008). Her research focuses on equine anatomy and clinical practice, as evidenced by her 2012 publication in the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry.
