Rebecca Flowers is a Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Chicago, where she has taught since 2024. She holds an MFA in Nonfiction Writing from the University of Iowa (2024) and a BA in Biology and English from Dartmouth College (2019).
- Research Focus: Creative nonfiction exploring intersections of mental health, nature, and oceanography.
- Current Project: Developing a book blending personal narrative with scuba diving history.
Her work has been published in Essay Daily, DIAGRAM, and Guernica. She has received notable awards including the Edwards R. Perkins Literature Prize and the Stanley Fellowship for International Research.
- Teaching Excellence: Recipient of the Carl Klaus Teaching Award (2024) for her courses on publishing at the University of Iowa.
