Rebecca Benard

Rebecca Benard serves as a Senior Lecturer and Associate Dean for Curriculum & Special Projects in the Department of Biology at Case Western Reserve University. She joined the department in 2009, designing courses focused on foundational biological knowledge and critical skill development through evidence-based teaching methods.

Her professional interests center on biology education with specialization in anatomy, physiology, and developmental biology. She emphasizes interactive classroom learning to cultivate critical-thinking, communication, and study skills that extend beyond coursework.

Currently teaching Anatomy and Physiology I/II (BIOL 116/117) for nursing majors and Development and Physiology (BIOL 216) for biology majors, her curriculum directly supports degree requirements for both programs while implementing pedagogical best practices.
