معرفی
Razvan Anton is an Associate Professor at the University of Art and Design of Cluj-Napoca, where he has been teaching since 2010. Specializing in drawing and visual documentation, he is recognized for his innovative approaches to artistic practice, particularly through artist books and photographic archives. His work bridges contemporary art with historical documentation, focusing on urban landscapes and post-communist visual culture.
His educational background includes a PhD from the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca (2011-2015), a Master's degree in drawing from Camberwell College of Arts, London (2007-2008), and previous studies at the same university in Cluj.
Anton's research interests focus on drawing as a process of meaning construction, visual documentation of historical and urban landscapes, and the intersection of artistic practice with archival work. His work often explores the tension between subjective experience and collective memory, particularly in post-communist contexts. He investigates how visual documentation can serve as evidence of thinking processes and historical transformations, with particular attention to ambiguous choreographies and counter-technological processes.
His artistic output shows consistent engagement with geopolitical tensions, urban memory, and the documentation of historical traces through drawing and photographic practices. The works demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of how visual documentation can capture both personal and collective histories.
