Ray Robert Lapierre is a Professor in the Department of Engineering Physics at McMaster University, specializing in molecular beam epitaxy, III-V compound semiconductors, and nanowire-based optoelectronic devices. His research spans photovoltaics, betavoltaics, quantum computing, and thermoelectrics, with a focus on nanowire growth, doping mechanisms, and crystal phase engineering.
His recent publications (2024–2022) highlight advancements in selective-area hydride vapor phase epitaxy, twinning superlattices, and luminescence properties of etched quantum wells. Key themes include crystal phase transitions, dopant behavior in nanowires, and thermal transport phenomena.
