Ray Dixon

Ray Dixon is a Professor at the University of East Anglia's School of Biological Sciences and has held the position of Project Leader at the Department of Molecular Microbiology, John Innes Centre, since 2014. He co-directs the CAS-JIC Centre for Excellence in Plant and Microbial Sciences in Beijing and Shanghai and has been an Honorary Professor at UEA since 1998.

Education:

• D.Phil. in Microbial Genetics, University of Sussex (1969–1973)

Dixon's research focuses on biological nitrogen fixation, bacterial gene regulation, and signal transduction pathways related to nitrogen and oxygen responses. He has pioneered work on bacterial enhancer binding proteins and synthetic biology approaches in microbial systems.
