Ravindra Goonetilleke

Prof. Ravindra Goonetilleke is a Professor in the Department of Management Science and Engineering at Khalifa University. Previously, he held joint appointments as Professor in the Division of Integrative Systems and Design and Department of Industrial Engineering and Decision Analytics at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, with prior industry roles as Senior Ergonomist at Biomechanics Corporation of America and Human Factors Manager at NIKE Sports Research Laboratory.

His educational background includes:

• MSAE in Aerospace Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology (1985)
• MS in Industrial Engineering, State University of New York at Buffalo (1984, as Fulbright Scholar)

Dr. Goonetilleke's research centers on Human-Centered Design with specialized expertise in footwear ergonomics, where he is globally recognized as a leading authority. His work spans Human-Computer Interaction, Psychophysical Modelling, and Data Visualization, emphasizing practical applications of ergonomic principles to solve real-world design challenges across multiple industries.
