Ravi Vumma is an Associate Clinical Professor of Pharmacology at the University of New England's School of Pharmacy. He teaches pharmacology to Pharm.D. students and conducts research in neuro-immuno-pharmacology and nutrition-gut-brain interactions using human cell models. Previously, he served as a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology at Linnaeus University and Orebro University in Sweden.
Dr. Vumma holds a Ph.D. in Biomedicine (Neuroscience) from Orebro University, a Master of Science in Molecular Biology from the University of Skövde, and a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Osmania University in India.
His research explores the interplay between inflammation, neurotransmitter transport, and gut-brain axis dysfunction in neuropsychiatric disorders. Recent publications (2021-2025) focus on cytokine mechanisms in neuropsychiatric conditions, therapeutic strategies involving butyrate, and transporter abnormalities in IBS and ADHD.
