Rasika Bhalerao is an Assistant Teaching Professor at Northeastern University's Khoury College of Computer Sciences, based at the Oakland and Silicon Valley campuses. She earned her PhD in Computer Science from NYU Tandon in 2022 under advisor Damon McCoy.
Research Focus: Her work spans ethical computing, natural language processing, and AI safety, with emphasis on:
- Mitigating social biases in ML systems
- Cybersecurity for data privacy
- Responsible AI education frameworks
- User rights in data broker platforms
Teaching: Leads courses in Fundamentals of Computer Science, AI/NLP, and the Align bridge program. Developed curriculum on ethical computing and teaches at summer programs including Mills Educational Talent Search and Climate Change AI Summer School 2024.
