Rashaduz Zaman

Rashaduz Zaman is a Research Fellow in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Alberta, Faculty of Science. His academic journey includes a PhD, MSc, and BPharm. He currently conducts research on ecological interactions among plants, insects, microbes, and environmental factors, with a focus on chemical and behavioral dynamics in grassland and forest ecosystems. His work in the Cahill Lab explores carbon sequestration in grasslands and the impacts of climate change on bark beetles and their symbiotic fungi.

Dr. Zaman has contributed to teaching roles, including serving as a Principle Instructor for RENR 447/747 (Forest Health) in Winter 2023 and as a Teaching Assistant in subsequent years. His research spans topics such as plant defense mechanisms, fungal symbiosis, and the effects of environmental stressors like elevated ozone and CO2 levels.
