Raquel Utrera Melero

Raquel Utrera Melero is a Postdoctoral Researcher at IMDEA Nanoscience, working in the Switchable Nanomaterials research group since March 2023.

Her educational background includes:

• Chemistry degree from the University of Granada (2014)
• Master 2 "LUMOMAT (light, molecules and materials)" at the University of Angers, France
• PhD from the University of Nantes, France (2020)

Her research focuses on nanomaterials, particularly switchable systems and perovskites. During her PhD, she synthesized and characterized luminescent copper iodide clusters, complemented by computational studies. As a postdoc in Rennes, she used DFT to investigate TADF and magnetic properties in copper compounds. Currently, she develops new perovskite materials at IMDEA Nanoscience.

She is an active member of the Switchable Nanomaterials research group, which explores innovative materials with tunable properties for advanced applications.
