Raquel Carcelén González

Raquel Carcelén González is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Medicine and Surgery at the Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera in Valencia. She holds a Licenciatura in Psychology from the University of Valencia, a Master's in Clinical and Health Psychology, and a Doctorate in Health Sciences from CEU-UCH. Her professional experience includes roles as a psychologist in Médecins du Monde and other organizations, focusing on addiction treatment and psychological therapy.

She currently teaches Psychology in Nursing, Dentistry, and Physiotherapy programs, as well as Consumer Psychology and Research Techniques in Advertising degrees. She coordinates the Master's Final Project in Health Psychology and has taught courses on Psychiatric Nursing, Drug Addictions, and Communication Skills since 2009.

Her research focuses on addiction, public health, and healthcare technology. She contributes to research groups like 'Lifestyle and Health' and has published on topics including physical activity benefits for elderly populations, virtual reality in pediatric care, and the role of bacteria in breast cancer. Her work integrates clinical, technological, and social dimensions of health.

She has received the Dr. Francesc Freixa Santfeliu Award (2010) for her poster on alcohol abuser impulsivity and the Ángel Herrera Research Award (2010) in experimental sciences. She is a member of the Colegio Oficial de Psicólogos (CV07040).
