Raphael Wittenberg

Raphael Wittenberg is an Associate Professorial Research Fellow and Deputy Director of the Care Policy and Evaluation Centre (CPEC) at the London School of Economics (LSE). Previously, he served as Deputy Director of the Centre for Health Service Economics and Organisation (CHSEO) at the University of Oxford. His work focuses on long-term care financing, unpaid care dynamics, and dementia care economics.

Research Interests:

• Long-Term Care Financing: Projects include demand projections for care up to 2041 and cost analyses of policy reforms.
• Dementia Care: Leads studies on dementia care models, ICT integration for caregivers, and disease burden economics.
• Social Care Policy: Explores unpaid care's socioeconomic impacts and policy implications of population aging.
• Health System Resilience: Analyzes acute care recovery post-pandemic and healthcare system sustainability.
