Raphael Morera

Raphael Morera is a CNRS Research Fellow and Director at the Centre de Recherches Historiques (CRH) of EHESS in Paris. His work bridges environmental history, hydraulic engineering, and socio-political dynamics of water management.

• Key projects include FLUIDGOV (flood governance in Rhône/Ganges), Dikes (21st century dike transitions), and RESTAUR'LAG (Mediterranean lagoon restoration)
• He served as Editor-in-Chief of Rural Studies (2018-2023) and leads the GRHEN research team.

Research spans three centuries of French water politics, focusing on marsh drainage techniques, urban sanitation policies, and comparative hydrosocial systems. His recent publications analyze digital technology in historical research and ecological restoration strategies.

Scientific awards include the CNRS Research Fellowship. He teaches courses on environmental history and digital humanities applications in historical studies.
