Rania Cannaday

Rania Cannaday, MD, is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Texas A&M University School of Medicine. She holds multiple administrative roles, including Hematology Oncology Block Course Director (since 2014), CSIE Program Director (since 2016), and CPC Thread Director (since 2019). She has been affiliated with the Round Rock Campus and serves as a Staff Pathologist at St. David Hospital in the Austin/Round Rock region (2019–present).

• Education: B.A. in Molecular & Cell Biology, UC Berkeley (1999); M.D., UT Houston McGovern Medical School (2003).
• Residencies/Fellowships: Pathology residency at UT Houston (2004–2008), Surgical Pathology fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center (2008–2009).

Her research and professional interests focus on medical education innovation, curriculum development, and pathology specialization. She has contributed to academic leadership roles such as Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs for Pre-clerkship (2017–2019) and chairs Vertical Integration efforts like the BSIE program (2021).

• Recent Awards: 2025 Association of Former Students College Level Teaching Award, 2019 Kelly Hester Award, and multiple teaching accolades from 2015–2018.

She has served on committees including Admissions, Honor Council, and Step I Taskforce, and led initiatives like the 12th Man EnMed Operation and TBL Review Committee.
