Randall Sobie is a Research Scientist at the Institute of Particle Physics and Director of the Victoria Subatomic Physics & Accelerator Research Centre (VISPA) at the University of Victoria. He holds an adjunct faculty position within the Department of Physics & Astronomy under the Faculty of Science. His expertise lies in experimental particle physics, with active involvement in the ATLAS and BaBar experiments. He directs HEPnet/Canada, managing national and international high-energy physics (HEP) networks in Canada. His work also extends to cloud computing and big data applications for HEP research.

- Experimental particle physics

- Network infrastructure for HEP collaborations
- Cloud computing optimization for large-scale data analysis
