استاد · Computational Cognitive Neuroscience
University of California, Davisمعرفی
Randall O'Reilly is a Professor of Psychology, Computer Science, and a member of the Center for Neuroscience at the University of California, Davis. He holds a B.A. from Harvard University, M.S. and Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at MIT. His research focuses on computational models of learning mechanisms in brain areas such as hippocampus, prefrontal cortex, and visual cortex, integrating biological plausibility with cognitive functions like memory, attention, and controlled processing.
His work emphasizes the Complementary Learning Systems theory, predictive learning, and the Emergent neural network simulation environment. He has secured funding from agencies like ONR, NIH, and DARPA. O'Reilly leads the Computational Cognitive Neuroscience Lab (CCNL), exploring predictive learning in visual systems and cortico-thalamic interactions. His textbook Computational Cognitive Neuroscience is widely used, and his lab's software and research are openly accessible via GitHub.
