معرفی
Ramon Braga is a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Southern Cross University. He holds a BMet from the Federal University of Campina Grande (Brazil), MMet and PhD from the National Institute for Space Research (Brazil). His postdoctoral research included stints at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry (Germany).
His research focuses on aerosol-cloud interactions, cloud microphysics, and remote sensing. Current work involves the Reef Restoration and Adaptation Program, investigating marine cloud brightening techniques to engineer cloud responses in marine environments. He employs in situ aircraft measurements and satellite sensors to study cloud dynamics and aerosol impacts.
Key collaborations include international groups in Brazil, Germany, Israel, and Australia. His work bridges observational field campaigns (e.g., ACRIDICON-CHUVA, GoAmazon2014/5) with advanced instrumentation development. Research outputs emphasize understanding how aerosols modulate cloud properties and precipitation processes in tropical and marine settings.
Publications highlight advancements in detecting secondary droplet activation, quantifying aerosol effects in convective systems, and improving satellite-based rainfall retrieval algorithms. He contributes to climate science through studies on biomass burning aerosol transport and seasonal cloud dynamics over the North Atlantic and Amazon basin.
