معرفی
Dr. Rameshbabu Manyam is a Research Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health. His expertise spans machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and data science applied to healthcare analytics, with a focus on risk prediction using longitudinal electronic health records (EHR) and high-performance computing. Dr. Manyam’s research includes developing scalable ML models for outcomes such as suicidal ideation, maternal mortality, and surgical readmissions.
He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Georgia State University and has over 20 years of experience in NIH-funded projects, including custom database development and data visualization tools. Notable accolades include the 2025 Provost’s Distinguished Teaching Award and the 2024 Mike Kutner Faculty Poster Award.
His affiliations include the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, IEEE Computer Society, and the 2025 IEEE International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine (as Publicity Co-chair). He mentors students and advises the Emory Humphrey Fellowship Program.
Education

Research Interests
Dr. Manyam’s work bridges ML/AI with healthcare challenges, focusing on:
- Survival analysis and longitudinal data mining
- Time-series analyses for perioperative variables in cardiac surgery
- Scalable predictive models for surgical outcomes (e.g., CABG readmissions)
- AI-driven solutions for global health issues like malaria and vaccination gaps
Recent Contributions
His 2025 articles explore AI in predicting mortality after femoral fractures and under-immunization in Cameroon. Earlier work includes deep learning frameworks for surgical readmission prediction and ensemble methods for failure-to-rescue analysis.
