Dr. Ramakrishna Guda is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Western Michigan University (WMU). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Mumbai (2005) and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan (2005–2008). His research focuses on nanomaterials and ultrafast laser spectroscopy, with a particular emphasis on plasmonic gold clusters, nanocomposite synthesis, and optoelectronic materials. He teaches courses in general chemistry and physical chemistry.
Research interests include the design of novel nanomaterials for electromagnetic interference shielding, photoluminescent gold nanoclusters, and computational modeling of optical properties using discrete dipole approximation. His work bridges chemistry, materials science, and physics, addressing applications in energy materials and sensor technologies.
Publications highlight advancements in gold nanoparticle structures, functionalized nanomaterials, and theoretical studies of plasmonic effects. His lab explores interdisciplinary approaches to material synthesis and characterization, with a focus on real-world applications such as catalysts, sensors, and photonic devices.
