Dr. Ralph Püttner serves as Project Director within the Weinelt Research Group at the Department of Physics, Free University of Berlin. His work focuses on advanced experimental condensed matter physics using synchrotron and free-electron laser facilities.
Research spans topological materials (notably Sb2Te2S compounds), ultrafast electron dynamics, and Dirac cone spectroscopy. Key methodologies include time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy, linear dichroism measurements, and pump-probe techniques at facilities like European XFEL. Current projects involve BMBF-funded DynaMaX and SpinR initiatives studying population/decay dynamics in quantum materials.
As Project Director, Dr. Püttner leads experimental campaigns within Prof. Weinelt's group, managing technical operations for Ma-series teaching laboratories (Compton-effect, Auger spectroscopy, Solid-state Lasers).
