Ralph Ferneyhough is a Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Chester, serving as Programme Leader for the BSc Games Development course. He previously worked in games development for 20 years, contributing to over 30 commercial titles like the LEGO series. He held a secondment as Deputy Head of Computer Science (2021–2024) and actively manages faculty-wide teaching, assessment, and student experience initiatives.

Research Interests: Focuses on game mechanics systems, AI/machine learning in gaming, and pedagogical management. Currently pursuing a Professional Doctorate exploring machine learning tools for higher education student success.
Teaching: Leads collaborative game development modules, C++ programming with Unreal Engine, and undergraduate dissertation supervision. Recognized with staff and student awards for teaching excellence.
