Ralph C. Aldredge

Professor Ralph C. Aldredge holds a dual role as a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Davis, and as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies. His research focuses on combustion dynamics, fluid dynamics, biotransport, and forensic science. He has pioneered studies in flame propagation, blood-flow dynamics around catheters, and DNA degradation analysis in fire-exposed biological materials.

Key research areas include tumor growth influenced by extracellular matrix interactions, micro-combustor optimization for lean fuel mixtures, and the design of advanced intravascular diagnostic catheters. He has been recognized with the NSBE Lifetime Achievement Award and election to ASME Fellow.
