معرفی
Dr. Ralf Landgraf is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Miami, where he also serves as Director of the Cancer Biology Graduate Program and holds membership in the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. His academic journey includes a PhD in Biological Chemistry from UCLA and an MS in Physiological Chemistry from Eberhardt Karls Universitaet, followed by postdoctoral training in protein structure and bioinformatics.
Research Focus
Dr. Landgraf's research investigates cancer signaling mechanisms with emphasis on:
- ERBB2/3 receptor tyrosine kinases in breast cancer, exploring tetrameric signaling complexes and membrane raft microdomains
- Smoothened GPCR in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, focusing on novel drug resistance mechanisms involving AKT stabilization
- Development of fluorescent imaging probes for real-time receptor activation monitoring in clinical samples
Publication Focus
Recent publications (2020-2022) demonstrate multidisciplinary approaches to cancer therapeutics, including: lymphoma chemosensitization strategies, GPCR-kinase crosstalk mechanisms, and nanomedicine applications spanning biosensors and vaccine platforms. His work consistently bridges basic receptor biochemistry with translational clinical insights.
Awards and Recognition
- Dorothy Rodbell Cohen Endowment Award
- Stein Oppenheimer Endowment Award
- V Foundation for Cancer Research Award
Leadership and Collaboration
As Director of the Cancer Biology Graduate Program, Dr. Landgraf oversees curriculum development and trainee education. He leads the Landgraf Lab and maintains active collaborations with the Wilson Laboratory (chemistry/probe design) and Dr. Vega's team (lymphoma pathology). His committee service includes faculty recruitment, grant review panels, and core facility oversight at the medical school.
