Ralf Busch

Prof. Dr. Ralf Busch is the Chair of Metallic Materials at Saarland University. His research focuses on physical metallurgy, thermodynamics and kinetics of metastable phases, and metallic bulk metallic glasses (BMGs), with applications in interface reactions and biomaterials. He works within the Department of Materials Science and Engineering.

• Research Areas: Physical Metallurgy, Thermodynamics/Kinetics of Metastable Phases, BMG Development, Structural Characterization, and Innovative Processing Techniques (e.g., die casting, thermoplastic forming).
• Team: Leads an interdisciplinary team including PhD students studying Zr-based BMGs, Pt-P alloys, Fe-based magnetic materials, and Ni-Nb/Ti-Zr systems.
