Rajkumar Buyya

Dr. Rajkumar Buyya is a Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor and Director of the Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems (CLOUDS) Laboratory at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He also serves as founding CEO of Manjrasoft, a university spin-off commercializing cloud computing innovations globally. His work has resulted in software technologies deployed across 50+ countries by academic and commercial institutions.

His research spans Cloud Computing, Distributed Systems, Grid and Fog Computing, Big Data, Data Engineering, Internet of Things, and Complex Systems. Under his leadership, the CLOUDS Laboratory develops foundational frameworks for distributed computing environments with significant industrial adoption.

The laboratory's innovations are commercialized through Manjrasoft, where he serves as CEO, with Aneka Cloud technology receiving industry recognition including the Frost New Product Innovation Award.
