Prof. Dr. Rajko Odobaša is a full professor at the Faculty of Law, JJ Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia. He holds a Doctor of Science in Economic Sciences and serves as Head of the Green Legal Clinic PFO and President of the Department of Economic Sciences. His career began in 1984 as an assistant professor, progressing through academic roles including teaching at Polytechnics in Požega and Vukovar, and international collaborations via Erasmus+ programs.
Education: Graduated from Osijek Faculty of Law (1984), completed postgraduate studies at Zagreb Faculty of Law (1989), and earned his PhD from Osijek Faculty of Economics (2005). His research focuses on sustainable development, environmental law, political economy, and EU policy impacts. Notable projects include leading analyses on food insecurity and the right to food in Croatia.
Research interests span globalization effects on social inequality, EU agricultural policy, and environmental governance. He has authored/co-authored over 30 publications, including works on obesity prevention, income inequality, and EU climate policies. His teaching includes courses in Environmental Law, Political Economy of the EU, and Human Rights frameworks.
Advising/Grants: Mentors postgraduate students in Human Rights programs and leads internal faculty research projects. His Green Legal Clinic collaborates with civil society and businesses on environmental and social justice issues.
Labs/Teams: Oversees the Green Legal Clinic, focusing on interdisciplinary legal and environmental advocacy.
