Rajesh Naik is an Adjunct Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology's School of Materials Science and Engineering, concurrently serving as a Research Scientist at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) since 1999. He leads the Bio Research team and acts as Technical Advisor for the Nano-Bio branch (RXBN) in AFRL's Materials and Manufacturing Directorate. Prior to AFRL, he held a Howard Hughes Research Associate Fellowship at Rutgers University's Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine.
His research focuses on bionanotechnology, biomimetics, biosensing, and protein engineering, with emphasis on composites nanostructures. He has authored/co-authored over 110 journal papers and book chapters.
- Awards: Air Force Star Team Award, SPIE Fellow (2009), Vince Russo Leadership Excellence Award
- Labs/Teams: Leads the Nano-Bio branch (RXBN) and collaborates with Georgia Tech’s Materials Science and Engineering programs.
His work bridges biological systems with advanced materials, emphasizing practical applications in sensing technologies and materials innovation.
