Dr. Raja Kakaraparthi is a Research Fellow in the School of Chemistry & Physics at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). His roles include leading research in organic and perovskite solar cells, polymer design using machine learning, and scalable material development for optoelectronic devices. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Materials from Pusan National University, South Korea, and has held postdoctoral positions at institutions including the University of North Texas and Osaka University.
His research focuses on optimizing photovoltaic materials, with emphasis on non-fullerene acceptors, conjugated polymers, and high-efficiency module fabrication. He has contributed to advancements in organic field-effect transistors (OFETs), stretchable electronics, and machine learning-driven material discovery. Dr. Kakaraparthi teaches undergraduate courses in chemistry, including SEB124, CZB190, and CZB191.
His work spans over 30 peer-reviewed publications, with recent breakthroughs in achieving >17% efficiency in organic solar modules and developing dopant-free hole transport materials for perovskite cells. He actively supervises Honours, Masters, and PhD students, fostering innovation in renewable energy materials.
