Dr. Raj Ladani is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. He holds this position since 2019, following a Research Fellowship from 2016 to 2019. His research focuses on advanced composite materials, aerospace engineering, and nanotechnology, with industry collaborations including Boeing Australia and the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG).
His research interests span Aerospace Engineering, Materials Engineering, Nanotechnology, and Composite Materials. He explores bio-inspired designs, multifunctional composites, and additive manufacturing techniques to enhance material performance and structural integrity.
Dr. Ladani has received notable awards, including the Victoria Fellowship (2021), STEM College Early Career Researcher Award (2020), and RMIT Award for Impact and Collaboration (2019), recognizing his contributions to composite materials research and collaboration.
He collaborates with industry partners like Advanced Composite Structures Australia (ACS-A) and QinetiQ, focusing on projects such as Multi-Functional Shape Memory Alloy Tufted Composite Joints and Additively Manufactured Pinning Technology. His work integrates advanced materials for aerospace and defense applications.
Dr. Ladani supervises PhD, Master’s, and undergraduate students in topics like 3D Printed Composites and Self-Healing Materials. He leads the Multifunctional Composites Research Group, contributing to innovations in composite design and structural analysis.
