Research Focus: Dr. Geha's work explores immune dysregulation in genetic disorders, particularly primary immunodeficiencies (e.g., RAG, DOCK8, LRBA, WIP deficiencies). His studies investigate cytokine signaling (IL-4, IL-17, IL-22), Treg and B-cell dysfunction, and skin inflammation mechanisms in diseases like atopic dermatitis and Omenn syndrome.
Scientific Contributions: Over 50 years, his team identified genetic causes of immune disorders (e.g., TFRC, NFKB2, CORO1A mutations), developed diagnostic criteria, and tested therapies like IFN-? and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. His work bridges clinical immunology with molecular discoveries in Science, Nature, and J Allergy Clin Immunol.
