Rahat Munir

Professor Rahat Munir is Head of the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance at Macquarie University, Sydney. As a specialist in forensic accounting and financial crime investigation, he holds a PhD from Macquarie University and maintains professional certifications including FCA (Chartered Accountants ANZ), FCPA (CPA Australia), and SFHEA (Higher Education Academy). His leadership extends to global curriculum development and accreditation initiatives (AACSB/AMBA), with active engagement across Asia-Pacific and European academic networks.

Professor Munir's research spans management accounting, corporate governance, sustainability, and accounting education. He has conducted extensive industry studies involving Big Four firms, banking, manufacturing, and airlines across 10+ countries, with publications addressing UN Sustainable Development Goals. His recent work explores organizational resilience, technological impacts on accounting careers, and corporate sustainability strategies in emerging economies.
