Ragnar Dienske

Ragnar Dienske serves as a core lecturer in the Social Work program at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, specializing in instruction for first and second-year students with particular attention to those experiencing academic delays in their second year.

His research focuses on the intersection of social work and education, specifically examining how interactive homework assignments can increase parental involvement at home. Dienske leads the "Parents and Homework" PhD research project in collaboration with experts from universities of applied sciences, primary schools, and secondary schools.

Through the Collaboration with Parents research group at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, he is developing a comprehensive toolbox of evidence-based approaches for enhancing parent-school relationships. His work has engaged 15 schools in designing and testing innovative homework assignments that bridge classroom learning with family engagement.

With a background as a practicing social worker in Rotterdam before entering academia, Dienske brings valuable field experience to his teaching and research, creating practical applications that address real-world challenges in student development and family support systems.
