معرفی
Raghu Agarwal is a Professor and Graduate Program Coordinator in the Mechanical Engineering Department at San José State University.
Education:
- MS and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Texas A&M University, College Station, TX
- BSME in Mechanical Engineering, Michigan Technological University, Houghton, MI
His research focuses on computational methods and design engineering:
- Finite Element Analysis applications in structural mechanics
- Integrated CAD systems development and implementation
- Mechanical design optimization techniques
- Advanced stress and failure analysis methods
- Computer-aided engineering education frameworks
- Numerical methods for engineering problem-solving
Dr. Agarwal developed and restructured multiple graduate courses including ME230 (Advanced Mechanical Engineering Analysis covering Fourier series and PDE solutions), ME265 (Computer Aided Design with Pro/E laboratory integration), ME260 (Advanced Strength and Stress incorporating fracture mechanics), and ME273 (Finite Element Analysis with case studies). At the undergraduate level, he created ME160 (Introduction to Finite Element Analysis), ME165 (Computer Aided Design), ME130 (Applied Engineering Analysis), and ME101 (Dynamics) as a mechanical engineering gateway course.
He serves as Director of the ME Computer Lab and Advisor for Pi Tau Sigma Honor Society. His scholarly output includes over 20 refereed publications in journals, conference proceedings, and technical reports spanning computational mechanics and engineering design education.
