Dr Ragan Johnson is an Associate Clinical Professor at Duke University School of Nursing focusing on health equity and care for underserved communities. Her research develops interventions to reduce health disparities.
She specializes in HIV prevention among Black women through community-engaged approaches like salon-based education. Funded projects include NIH and Gilead Sciences grants for multi-level interventions to improve PrEP uptake.
Teaching: Leads courses in physical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and primary care across the lifespan. Developed innovative teaching methods including telephone visit simulations.
