Rafia Khan is an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist at Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Overton. Her work focuses on integrated pest management (IPM) for commercial ornamental nurseries and residential ornamental/turfgrass systems in East Texas. She leads applied research and extension programs addressing key pests like thrips, mealybugs, Crape Myrtle bark scales, and European pepper moths.
Education:
- B.S. in Zoology, University of Dhaka
- M.S. from Austin Peay State University and University of Dhaka
- Ph.D. in Entomology, University of Florida
Her expertise spans field and greenhouse horticulture, insect biology, and pest identification. She directly supports East Texas nursery industries through practical solutions for pest challenges.
