Raffaella Mariotti is an Associate Professor at the Department of Neurosciences, Biomedicine and Movement Sciences, University of Verona. Her primary academic focus lies in neuroscience and neurodegenerative disorders, particularly Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
- Education: Laurea in Biology (University of Genova), PhD in Neuroscience (University of Verona)
- Research: Pathogenic mechanisms in ALS, therapeutic applications of mesenchymal stem cells and exosomes, epigenetic approaches
Her research spans Neurodegenerative Diseases and Molecular Neuroscience, with recent work on exosome-based therapies for autoimmune encephalomyelitis and ALS models. She has received funding from FFABR and other agencies for these studies.
She actively teaches Histology and Embryology across multiple medical and health science degree programs, including Medicine and Surgery, Physiotherapy, Dental Hygiene, and Obstetrics.
