Rafel Escribano Carrascosa

Rafel Escribano Carrascosa is a Full Professor at the Department of Physics, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) since April 2024. Previously, he held positions as Associate Professor (2009-2024), Ramón y Cajal Researcher (2004-2009), and Assistant Professor (various periods). He earned his PhD in Physics (1996) and degrees in Physical Sciences (1992, 1993).

His research focuses on strong interaction phenomenology, particularly eta/eta' meson physics, chiral symmetry models, and D-meson/tau-lepton decays. He leads the UAB Theory Group and IFAE Theory Division, coordinating master’s programs in High Energy Physics and Multidisciplinary Research. He has supervised 3 doctoral theses, 11 master’s projects, and 31 bachelor’s projects.
