Rafael Torres Sánchez

Rafael Torres Sánchez is a Professor at the University of Navarra, affiliated with the College of Economic and Business Sciences and the Department of Economics. He is a member of the CSG Red Imperial (Contractor State Group) research group. His contact email is rtorres@unav.es.

• Education: Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Murcia (1988), with a thesis titled Desarrollo demográfico de Cartagena en la Edad Moderna (Demographic Development of Cartagena in the Modern Age).

His research focuses on Economic History, particularly through the lens of Institutional Economics and Historical Demography, with implications for Public Economics and Regional Development. He contributes to the CSG Red Imperial group, which analyzes historical fiscal policies and state-contractor dynamics.
