Rae Ette Newman

Rae Ette Newman is an Interim Dean at the College of Education, Eastern Oregon University, where she has been affiliated since 2013. She previously served as Chair of the College of Education and coordinated the Early Childhood Education and Master of Arts in Teaching programs.

• Ph.D. in Special Education, emphasizing early childhood education: University of Nevada Las Vegas
• M.Ed. in Special Education, emphasizing autism and cognitive disabilities: University of Nevada Las Vegas
• BS in Education with dual majors in PreK-grade 3 education and special education early childhood: University of Wisconsin Oshkosh

Her research and professional work focus on quality programming in education, including accreditation, assessment, program design, and teacher licensure pathways. She led the College of Education through national accreditation and developed the Instruction Assistant pathway to licensure.

She teaches courses such as ED 202 Linguistic & Cognitive Development, ED 382 Elementary Classroom Dynamics, and SPED 558 Field Experience: Early Childhood Exceptional Learners.
