Radhika Aravamudhan serves as Professor and Dean of the Osborne College of Audiology at Drexel University. She holds an EdD from the University of Pennsylvania, PhD in Audiology & Cognition from Kent State University, and MSc/BS degrees from India's All India Institute of Speech & Hearing.
Her research encompasses:
- Interprofessional education models and outcomes assessment
- Auditory cognition of complex sounds including speech perception
- Cochlear implant signal processing effects on auditory context
- Neurophysiologic correlates of spectral processing via Frequency Following Responses
- Perceptual learning mechanisms in the auditory system
Recent publications (2014-2015) focus on interprofessional healthcare education frameworks and auditory neurophysiology, with earlier work establishing foundations in cochlear implant perception and phonetic context effects. Her research demonstrates consistent focus on translational audiology bridging clinical practice with cognitive neuroscience.
Significant scientific honors include:
- Best Professional Poster Award (Pennsylvania Academy of Audiology)
- NIH Mentored Research Grant
- Kent State University research fellowships and awards
- Gold Medal and merit scholarships from Indian institutions
She leads interprofessional education initiatives across Drexel's health sciences programs and maintains active membership in ASA, AAA, and ASHA where she serves as Vice President for Academic Affairs in Audiology.
